The WESTEND.MG in the SMS Businesspark City at Blumenberger Straße forms the heart of the start-up scene in Mönchengladbach. It is conceived as a start-up and innovation centre where start-ups, medium-sized businesses, corporations and educational institutions come together to learn from each other and mutually benefit. Specially refurbished sea freight containers are available here as office space in a 4000-square metre former production hall. There is also a plan to set up a makerspace. The adjoining SMS Businesspark offers additional space for a wide variety of purposes. Its unique selling point is its proximity to the manufacturing industry.

Offices or desks have already been rented by filmmakers, psychologists, pastors, recruitment agencies, a lawyer specialising in advice for refugees, real estate agents and a new delicatessen label. A second branch, also with a strong social focus, was set up in spring 2019 in the centre of Rheydt.
Neuwerker Business Office
The business office which was set up by Volksbank at Dammer Strasse 136 has been in the hands of Duisburger D&D Immobilien und Beteiligungsmanagement GmbH since summer 2018. However, the concept of combining affordable office space with a creative coworking atmosphere has stayed the same. Tenants, especially young tradespeople and other small businesses looking to escape their home office, have access to a professional office infrastructure with shared conference and seminar rooms, a reception and a copying station. The 20 to 25-square meter offices are furnished by the tenants themselves. Storage rooms and self-storage options are also available.
Professional office space is also available in the outskirts, such as in Wickrath in this case. The Nobel Business Center is all about lower overall costs while also offering better amenities. The Business Center has been in existence since 2011, short rental periods of three months or more are possible, and office space is available in sizes from 13 to 150 m². The spatial cooperation of more than 50 tenants also results in numerous synergy effects.
