Airport industrial estate

Mönchengladbach Airport covers an area of just under 120 hectares. A total of eight hangars offer a floor space of over 16,000 m². Two additional hangars are (as of Q2/2023) in the process of being renovated, adding almost 6,000 m². This will create new capacity for additional aircraft, of which there are already more than 160 at the site.

The remodeling of the 2,800 m² terminal will also promote another of the airport’s mainstays. In line with the high demands of business aviation and the desire for fast handling, customers will in future have access to new, modern facilities with short distances, including a business lounge.

Long opening hours from 08:00-20:30 (PPR 06:00-22:00), an IFR control zone with ILS on both sides and 1440 m runway (LDA 1200 m) underpin the advantages for business aviation.

Currently, these factors result in an average of almost 50,000 aircraft movements per year.

The importance of MGL as an economic factor is also underlined by the more than 45 companies from the aviation industry, service providers, service and maintenance companies, which occupy almost 5,300 m² of workshop and office space.

A high occupancy rate of the rental space speaks for the attractiveness of the location.

Further areas with development potential are currently being developed and will be available to companies in the future.
